U.S. debt ceiling: Schumer criticizes ‘MAGA Republicans’ for ideas he thought would negatively impact New York

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer held a press conference on Sunday to comment on the debt ceiling in New York City. Schumer commended President Joe Biden and the White House administration for coming up with “a sensible compromise under the most difficult of circumstances” when coming up with a deal on the debt ceiling. He went on to criticize “MAGA Republicans” and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, saying their propositions would cut millions of dollars of federal funding for New York state.
