The World Health Organization announced on Thursday that mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, was no longer considered a global health emergency. While the emergency had ended, however, the organization's director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned it still posed "significant public health challenges." Katherine Ward explains.
