Following lawmakers being expelled from the Tennessee legislature on April 9 for protesting gun violence and calling for gun control after Nashville’s most recent school shooting, the now-reinstated lawmakers Justin Jones and Justin Pearson sat in the Oval Office with U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris on Monday. Biden called the expulsion “shocking and undemocratic.”
