Massive Calgary-area solar project rejected in favour of wildlife conservation

A massive solar project proposed for a site south of Calgary near a lake listed as one of Canada’s most important areas for birds has been rejected by the Alberta Utilities Commission. As Carolyn Kury de Castillo reports, the decision raises questions about how to balance the needs for renewable energy and protection of farmland and wildlife.
