Surrey council looks to slash mammoth tax increase

Buoyed by an influx of new provincial cash, Surrey city councillors studied a revised municipal budget Monday that dropped a planned property tax hike from 17.5% to 12.5%. Even at that level, the average Surrey homeowner faces a $286 tax increase in 2023. Grace Ke reports.
