It’s been more than eight months since Vancouver’s fire chief ordered the immediate removal of tents and structures from East Hastings Street. While much of the encampment has been cleared, fire officials say a substantial safety risk remains and as Kristen Robinson reports, it complicated the recent emergency response to an SRO fire.
