A group of Torontonians at three different apartment buildings rallied against a developer that they say is looking to upgrade buildings to remove rent-controlled units. A rally was also held at Royal Bank Plaza to draw attention to the bank’s funding of fossil fuel expansion projects across the country. And Canadians in some provinces and territories are expected to pay more at the gas pump and liquor stores, as several major tax changes came into effect.
