Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday that relations with the U.S. were in a “lamentable state” and at their “lowest point,” after Washington accused Russia of downing one of its reconnaissance drones over the Black Sea the day before. In a separate statement, Russian defence ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenko said that the U.S. drone involved in the incident was heading towards the Russian border before it fell due to “sharp manoeuvering.”
