Chinese leader Xi Jinping was awarded a third five-year term as president on Friday, putting him on track to stay in power for life. Speaking separately at a press briefing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that, “This is of great significance to China’s development and to comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”
