Addressing a United Nations General Assembly meeting on Wednesday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned of the dangers of nuclear threats as the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine approaches. “Meanwhile, we have heard implicit threats to use nuclear weapons. The so-called tactical use of nuclear weapons is utterly unacceptable. It is high time to step back from the brink,” Guterres said. “War is not the solution. War is the problem.”
