The mayor of Nakusp in B.C.’s West Kootenay says his community was uncovered when a close friend needed an ambulance in late January – despite the fact the small village has had round the clock paramedic service since late last year. After delays the province’s ambulance service blames on staffing shortages, the patient ended up dying. Kristen Robinson reports.
