Quebec government conflicted over closing unofficial border crossing at Roxham Road
Description
February 2, 2023
There is new pressure on Quebec to close Roxham Road, with one opposition party even suggesting the provincial police should be deployed. Thousands of asylum seekers enter Canada from the United States every year at the irregular border crossing. The new request from the Parti Québécois however, created an embarrassing situation for the Legault government. Global's Dan Spector reports.
