Trudeau defends financial assistance programs after calls from Conservatives to reel-in spending

During Thursday’s session of question period in the House of Commons in Ottawa, Conservative MP Jasraj Singh Hallan grilled Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about government spending amid levels of high inflation in Canada. Trudeau retorted that his government’s spending is necessary to assist Canadians struggling with finances, even though Hallan argued that those measures, along with the cost of necessities, are costing Canadians too much.
