‘No indication’ medically-assisted death offered to Canadian veteran, deputy minister says

Veterans Affairs Deputy Minister Paul Ledwell said Monday that 402,000 "unique veteran files" had been reviewed for potential cases of medically-assisted dying being discussed with veterans. From those, only four cases involving one individual were found. He added that there was "no indication" from a review of files that the idea of medical assistance in dying (MAiD) had been offered to Paralympian and retired Canadian corporal Christine Gauthier.
