Asked about recommending people wear masks again and stopping short of mandating them, Dr. Kieran Moore said on Monday that his responsibility as Ontario’s chief medical officer of health is to “inform” Ontarians and the first step is “educating” about the complex threat of COVID-19, RSV and flu viruses circulating and affecting young children under four years of age who can’t mask. He said the recommendation is for people to adhere to all layers of protection against viruses, one of them being wearing masks.
