Mayor John Tory to streamline housing approval process and will use ‘strong mayor powers’ if necessary

Mayor John Tory said he wants a new “development and growth division” that will streamline the housing approval process to make building homes faster. He wants it to be up and running by early 2023 and will use “strong mayor powers” given to him by the province, if necessary.
