The Canadian Black Music Archives is celebrating Black History Month with its annual showcase, spotlighting Toronto’s rich soul and R&B scene. The free event runs February 5th from 5 to 10 p.m. at the City of Toronto Archives. It features performances by Black artists from across the GTA. Phil Vassell, executive director of the CBMA, and performer Roger Mooking joins Jaden Lee-Lincoln to talk about the importance of preserving Black Canadian music history and what audiences can expect from the night.
