Band members from Carry The Kettle Nakota Nation protested outside the Court of King’s Bench in Regina on Friday, demanding the removal of one of its councillors who had been charged but acquitted of sexually assaulting a minor. Due to a publication ban, the accused councillor cannot be named. Members are circulating a petition with over 300 signatures for the removal of the accused councillor. Carry The Kettle Nakota Nation Councillor Joellen Haywahe said taking action is extremely important.
