Referencing the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of monkeypox as a public emergency of international concern over the weekend, White House COVID-19 coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha said that this was a “call to action” to the global community to stop the spread of this virus at a press briefing on Monday. Jha placed an emphasis on a combination of vaccines, testing, treatments and community outreach as a strategy to protect those vulnerable domestically.
