Pope Francis arrived in Canada on Sunday, landing in Edmonton, as he was set to begin his trip focused on Indigenous reconciliation. He was greeted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Gov. Gen. Mary Simon, as well as the Association of First Nations National Chief RoseAnne Archibald and other Indigenous leaders. The Pope told reporters on the flight to Canada that the trip must be handled with care. He also plans to visit Quebec City and Iqaluit during his six-day trip.
