The New Brunswick government has raised royalty fees on wood harvested from Crown land, and expects the change will add up to $50 million more a year to the provincial coffers. The province says the funds will be used to help the private woodlot industry, who’ve long complained that low stumpage fees on Crown land put them at a competitive disadvantage. Silas Brown reports.
