Canada’s top doctor discusses vaccine strategies for monkeypox

Canada's chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam spoke Friday about the various vaccine strategies being looked at for monkeypox, including certain higher risk contacts of people who may have been diagnosed with the disease or also potentially prior to exposure. While there has not been a specific vaccine created for monkeypox, data shows the vaccines used to eradicate smallpox are up to 85 per cent effective against monkeypox.
