In December 2019, Maxwell Johnson and his granddaughter, who are both Indigenous, were arrested and handcuffed by police outside a BMO branch in Vancouver. The bank wrongfully accused the pair of fraud. Now the Johnsons have reached a settlement with BMO, and as Dawna Friesen explains, Maxwell is reflecting on what he says has been a long, difficult journey.
