The Quebec government has renewed the public health state of emergency order for the 100th time during the pandemic. The act suspends the democratic process and opposition parties ardently want the government to stop giving itself these exceptional powers. Quebec will lift many COVID-19 restrictions by March 14, but claims lifting the state of emergency isn’t that simple. Global’s Raquel Fletcher reports.
