Quebec’s justice minister says he is considering drafting a law which would strip courts of the right to require judges be bilingual. Last week, Quebec Superior Court ruled the minister acted illegally when he tried to remove the bilingualism requirement from recent postings for judges in and around Montreal. As Global’s Raquel Fletcher reports, the issue has led to a serious face-off at the National Assembly between the CAQ and Quebec Liberal Party.
