New Brunswick expands primary care to relieve ER capacity

New Brunswick Health Minister Dorothy Shepard announced on Wednesday the expansion of primary care options for people in an effort to relieve demand on emergency rooms. As part of the expanded plan, pharmacies can now renew prescriptions whether patients have a care provider or not and can prescribe treatments for minor conditions.
