White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that the “consequences will be severe” for Russia if they do not take a diplomatic path on Ukraine, saying the country would face “severe economic consequences” if they take a non-diplomatic route. She said Russian President Vladimir Putin has “created this crisis” by putting troops on Ukraine’s borders, conducting exercises on the country’s eastern border, and says “we’re now at a stage where Russia could at any point launch an attack in Ukraine.”
