China reported 165 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Jan. 8, up from 159 a day earlier, health authorities said on Sunday. The city of Tianjin, which shares a border with Beijing, also began mass testing its 14 million residents after a cluster of 20 children and adults tested positive, including at least two with the Omicron variant.
