Ontario Long-Term Care Minister Rod Phillips announced Tuesday that as the Omicron COVID-19 variant continues to surge in the province, the province was implementing temporary restrictions to long-term care homes. Starting Dec. 30, general visitations will be paused with only essential caregivers allowed. Social day trips for residents will also be paused.
