New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell announced on Monday that the province had confirmed its first cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, which she said were related to an outbreak at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. Two cases are in Zone 7, the Miramichi region, and one case is in Zone 1, the Moncton region, Russell said.
