The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in coordination with the RCMP’s National Cybercrime Coordination Centre, announced Tuesday that they’ve charged 31-year-old Matthew Philbert of Ottawa with several cybercrimes related to Ransomware and Malware attacks. The announcement comes after a 23-month investigation into Canadian-based ransomware attacks on business, government and private personal data systems across North America.
