Saying consumers need immediate relief from rising gas prices caused in part by the shock to the global supply chain due to COVID-19, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Sunday called for the tapping of the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in an effort to help ease prices at the pump.
