Motherhood isn’t the reason Dr. Saida Azam hasn’t been able to work as a family physician during the pandemic. “I really felt bad that I couldn’t participate actively,” Azam says. Instead, she says, it’s that her years of training and experience come from India and Oman, certifications, she says, that are basically meaningless in Canada. Jamie Maraucher reports.
