Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday that his company will now be known as Meta. Zuckerberg announced the rebrand as he opened the company’s conference on virtual and augmented reality. He said the name change underscores ambitions to refocus the world’s largest social network on building what he called the “metaverse.”
