Survivors of HMCS Kootenay disaster lean on each other 52 years later

Saturday marked the 52nd anniversary of the Canadian navy’s worst peacetime accident. On Oct. 23, 1969, a gearbox failure caused a fatal explosion onboard HMCS Kootenay. Decades later, many of the survivors remain close and still lean on each other for support. Alicia Draus reports.
