Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole was repeatedly asked by reporters to clarify his gun control policy on Saturday, after a party spokesperson said O’Toole promises to repeal a May 2020 ban on what the Liberals call “assault-style” weapons, but not the prohibition of full-fledged “assault weapons,” which has been in place since 1977. O’Toole himself would not set the record straight.
