Conservatives pushing motion to censure Harjit Sajjan; O’Toole calls it ‘unprecedented’
Leader Erin O’Toole said the Conservatives are pushing for a motion in the House of Commons to censure Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan. O’Toole called the use of the censure motion “unprecedented” and said it is rarely used. “This week Conservatives called on Justin Trudeau to fire his Minister of Defence Harjit Sajjan. He refused. Mr. Trudeau won’t fire Minister Sajjan and Minister Sajjan won’t do the honourable thing and resign. Minister Sajjan misled Canadians about his service, he mismanaged ships and jet fleet contracts, and he covered up sexual misconduct allegations for three years,” O’Toole said Thursday.
