Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett announced on Wednesday that a settlement had been reached in a class-action lawsuit for residential school day scholars. Bennett said the proposed settlement will see eligible survivors receive $10,000, and there is also a $50 million investment to create an Indigenous-led not-for-profit foundation.
