Appearing on CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the “core infrastructure” of the stock market appears to be working properly despite the extreme volatility of the GameStop stock, but said the U.S. government needs to ensure investors are “protected” and that they understand the risk that comes with investing.
