Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Sunday urged U.S. President Joe Biden to declare a national emergency on climate change, calling it an “existential threat to our country and our planet.” He added that declaring an emergency would give the president “more tools” to deal with the devastation wrought by natural disasters caused by climate change.
