Germany will close most stores from Dec. 16 until at least Jan. 10 as it tightens coronavirus restrictions and tries to rein in the spread of the disease. Chancellor Angela Merkel said she and the governors of Germany’s 16 states agreed Sunday to step up lockdown measures to help stop the exponential rise in cases.
