Quebec Premier François Legault announced the province would prohibit gatherings during the Christmas holidays in red zones, which affects a majority of Quebecers, more than one week ahead of his self-imposed deadline to issue a decision for the holiday season, as coronavirus cases, deaths and hospitalizations continue to rise.
