Leaked recordings renew calls for Alberta’s top doctor to be more independent

Audio recordings of civil servants, including Dr. Deena Hinshaw, and elected officials were leaked on Thursday. The leaks suggest there is some tension between public health officials and the UCP government when it comes to decisions around the COVID-19 pandemic response. As Tom Vernon explains, it has renewed calls for Dr. Hinshaw to have more independence.
