The U.K.’s chief scientific advisor Sir Patrick Vallance said on Saturday that if no actions are taken, the second wave of COVID-19 could be twice as bad as the first. He said that if new measures are not put in place, the rate of deaths could potentially reach that of the number seen in April at the peak of the first wave.
