Support for Mi’kmaq fishers growing as mass attends Halifax rally

About a thousand people gathered in Halifax’s Grand Parade on Sunday to show their support for Indigenous harvesters on Nova Scotia’s southwestern shore. As Elizabeth McSheffrey reports, the asserting of their court and treaty-protected rights has cost them dearly, with multiple instances of threats, violence and vandalism targeting the fishermen this week.
