Crown prosecutors in Ontario have been given the ability offer plea deals to first-time impaired driving offenders in an effort to clear up a backlog in the court system. The backlog caused by the ongoing pandemic has impacted about 6,000 impaired driving cases before the courts. Morganne Campbell reports.
