California wildfires: Residents work to try and save homes from flames

Some residents in northern California decided on Saturday, Aug. 22 not to heed evacuation orders, instead staying back to try and save their homes from area wildfires. The fire in the region, known as the CZU Lightning Complex fire, began after last Sunday’s lightning strikes. It’s since charred at least 63,000 acres and is said to be only five per cent contained with nearly 1,200 firefighters battling the blaze.
