White House senior advisor and son-in-law to U.S. President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, congratulated Israel and the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, calling news of their agreement a “historic breakthrough” and “a great day for peace.” Trump said earlier on Thursday that the U.A.E. and Israel have agreed to establish full diplomatic ties as part of a deal to halt the annexation of occupied land sought by the Palestinians for their future state.
