On Tuesday Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced that part of the back-to-school rules amid the COVID-19 pandemic will require Grade 4-12 students and teachers to wear masks in hallways and common areas at all times. Hinshaw clarified that masks will be optional inside the classroom as long as students are appropriately spaced apart.
