During Thursday’s virtual House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance (FINA) regarding the WE Charity affair, in an exchange with NDP MP Charlie Angus, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that when he received the information WE Charity was being recommended by public service to deliver the student grant program, he “pushed back” and added that he was not presented with other options of charities to carry out the program by public service.
